I know that I am not officially an Indian, but by virtue of having been married to Bill Young for 25 years, and getting to know so many of you, I feel like an "adopted" Indian!I just wanted to represent him because he cannot represent himself. I feel blessed and honored to have been the one person with whom Bill chose to spend his life. He was my best friend, and the funniest person I have ever known. He enriched my life, the lives of his children, and the lives of so many others. He made a profound impact on all who knew him. He taught all of us about true courage and determination, and about living life In the Moment. He knew his time was limited, and didn't waste his Moments. Bill devoured life. He collected friends and shared himself. He helped to bring two remarkable young women into the world. He made us Laugh! He was bigger than life. His death left a huge void in the lives of all who knew and loved him, but his spirit still remains strong! So--Here's To Bill! Do something off the wall in his memory! I know he will be remembered by those of you who loved him and miss him. Let's face it...He's pretty unforgettable :) Anita |

Back in Baton Rouge since March, 2020, just in time to be quarantined alone for the first two months. Ben and I were together in Georgia living in a cute little cabin, enjoying retirement, but he got sick and passed away last September 13. We almost made it to 50 years February 2021, but we all loved each other for 49 years.
We had four children, 2 girls, 2 boys. We have 8 grands, 4 boys, 4 girls. 26, 22, 22, 18, 17, 13, 11 and 3!
Then, two months after I moved back home, a week before my son and youngest daughter were joining me in B. R., my son Andy passed away 4/27/2020. It's been a tough several months but I look forward to this virus getting controlled and life returning to a semblance of normalcy.
Life is a roller coaster ride. I look forward to seeing all of you other survivors at our special 51st reunion in April 2021!

I've been in Southern California since 1983/84, living in the Los Angeles area. After receiving my Masters Degree in Music from LSU (1977) I spent the next 7 years singing/performing in Dinner Theatre, touring, DisneyWorld, SeaWorld, Opryland and finally moving to NYC; from there I performed on Cruise Ships for a few years traveling the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Fun times! but sooner or later I had to get a "real job". I moved to the West Coast where I met my husband and went back to school and received my MA in Business Management. I've been in the construction/development/property management field ever since. Looking forward to seeing my friends from BR. |

I'm writing this profile for my husband of 45 years. Steve has had a few health issues over the years and he's much better at talking than texting! As you all will find out at the reunion! After graduation, he got a job at Red Stick Linen, but his dream was to work for Delta Airlines, which just happened to be on his linen route. Steve must have impressed someone there, because he was hired as a Customer Service Agent on 12/8/1972. He started at the Baton Rouge airport and began his 33 year career with Delta Airlines. Steve & I initially met at Istrouma. I was a freshman & he was a senior. Since we were both dating other people, we became great friends. After Steve graduated, we lost touch for several years, both of us married, but ended up divorced in 1975. By chance, we ran into each other at Thunderbird beach when my 19 month old (Brian) went over and threw sand on him! The rest, shall we say, is history. We were married in June of 1976, had two more children (Adam & Melinda), and lived a pretty comfortable life. I do want to tell a cute story about an unexpected surprise we had when Adam was born. As most of you know, Steve & Bill Young were great friends in school. Life sort of happened & the two of them hadn't seen each other in awhile, but they ran into each other on 4/29/1981 at Women's Hospital. Anita & Bill were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Lindsey and Steve & I welcomed our son, Adam. Steve still talks about how he and Bill went out for steaks and stood at the nursery window watching their babies. Bill & Anita were such great friends to us. We enjoyed getting together and celebrating the kids birthday. While Steve loved working in Baton Rouge, his ultimate dream was to work for Delta in Atlanta, GA. In March of 1988, we moved to Griffin, GA. Brian was 14, Adam was 6, and Mindy was 3. While it was extremely hard to leave our family & friends, we loved Georgia and have been here ever since. Our children are all grown with families of their own. Brian married a hometown girl, Macy and they have four children, Coleman, Madelynn Grace, Cooper, & Caroline. They live close to us. Coleman was drafted by the Los Angels out of high school and is a pitcher on their A ball team. We are so proud of all he's accomplished. Grace is a gymnast who received two perfect 10's this past year on her beam & floor routines. She'll be a senior this year, so looking forward to seeing her compete. Cooper is a baseball player too, he has some pretty big shoes to fill coming behind his brother, but I think he's up for the challenge. Last, but not least is our sweet little Caroline. She'll be turning 3 the end of July. She was certainly a surprise, but Brian & Macy affectionately call her their "bonus baby". Adam married a girl from Texas, Amber. They live in Richardson, TX with their two little boys, Knox(4) & Colt (17 months). Let me just say, the mothers curse is alive & well. Adam always walked to a different tune and gave Steve & I more than a few gray hairs. He has his hands full! We just laugh when we visit! Mostly we are thankful that we got to see him as a husband & father before we were in a nursing home! Melinda is married to Wes Clark. I tease him that he's my favorite son-in-law when in fact he's my only son-in-law. But, he is a gem! He never meets a stranger and if you're in the market for a Traeger grill, he can hook you up! Steve & I moved in with Mindy & Wes in 2018. Anyone who can live with their in-laws and still be sane is definitely a special person. He loves our daughter and they gave us three beautiful grandchildren. Madden (11) Max (8), & Mayson (4) The boys are baseball nuts (go figure). Madden loves to hunt & is a fishing fool. Max loves his IPad & playing forte-nite. Mayson loves playing with her dolls and pretending to be a princess, teacher, or mommie! Steve has been a wonderful husband and father. After he retired, he worked for Starbucks and the local country club. Imagine a coffee loving, golf nut having those jobs. He's had a few health challenges, prostate cancer x 2, bilateral knee replacement, he has a stent in every major artery in his heart, and two strokes just to name a few. Guess God knew what He was doing when He called me to be a nurse 25 years ago. But, like the energizer bunny, Steve just keeps hoping along. These days are spent watching TV, taking boys to practice, and going to ballgames and gym meets. He is really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up! |

Jerry and I have been married for 39 years. He graduated from Redemptorist and we dated throughout high school. We are enjoying life with family and friends. We have 5 grandchildren. Our daughter Christie is married to Daniel Louque from Grand Point and our son Jayson is married to Shelley Nelson from Baton Rouge. Her Mom was Becky Rock Nelson from class of 69 and a great friend of the family. I haven't been to a reunion yet, so I am looking forward to the 40th. The NOW picture is from a Halloween Cruise last year. It brought back memories of the 70's...our first car was a red white and blue stars and stripe volkswagon bug . Lot's of people gave us the peace sign while driving down the interstate. We were not Hippies, just having fun with the generational styles at the time. FUN

Bill and I have been married for 30 years and we have enjoyed raising our 2 beautiful daughters, Lindsey(26) and Kathleen(22). Lindsey is an internal auditor and lives in Houston, and Kathleen(Kitty) is a senior at LSU who will go on to PA school after graduation. She has been a part of one movie here and would love to do more. I graduated from LSU where I confirmed that I bleed purple and gold (of course red and white too), and have passed that heritage on to my children. We are fanatics about LSU sports, etc. I aactually never wanted to leave college, I had so much fun. I'm involved with both my sorority and my daughter's, and I'm happy to offer help to any graduate who has someone interested in sorority recruitment. I had my own business for several years, an interior design, furniture, antiques, and home decor store, still a great hobby of mine. I also represented a New York fashion designer's clothing line. Now I work part-time (sometimes that's too much) representing Zatarain's. We love spending time at our camp on False River and hope to build and live there permanently in the near future. Can't get enough of fishing, boating, swimming, and hanging out with other river rats. |

Who knew I'd work for LSU from the fall after high school graduation until May 2004. As a Student Worker in the Office of Admissions, to the Operations Manager in the Graduate School Admissions Office, and then the Registrar of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. LSU is a great place. What a ride!Johnny and I have now been married 16 years, and in February of 2000 we adopted our two sons (who were 16 months and 10 months of age). My retirement from fulltime work allowed me time to volunteer as our sons entered Kindergarten in August of 2004. They, and their school work, keep me busy to this day. Believe me - it's not like when we were in school! I'm glad to have the opportunity to spend as much time as I do with them and Johnny. We have been blessed through the years. I'm looking forward to this class reunion, and hope to see you there! |

Well, life has been great, and I have had a life I could write a book about. I went back to LSU at "mid-life" and graduated in Dietetics & Nutrition. It almost killed me [LOL]. My husband is a dream. I work for the State of LA., and now I'm worrying about being downsized by the governor. I want to work until I am very old. I'm so proud to be an Indian. I am so excited to see all of you. I am sad about the guys I didn't get to say goodbye to. I will at the memorial. God Bless! See you soon.

With my work I visit IHS about four times a year, my things have changed. We were all truly blessed to have grown up in the era we did. I raised my kids in Central but moved to the Feliciana's about five years ago and truly love it. Jeannie and I have four kids and seven grankids. Our oldest son Jerry is a Regional Pharmaceutical Manager and the father of our triplet grandbabies who are eleven. Jeffery our middle son is single and a graphics designer at the Woman's Hospital. Stephen our youngest son has three boys who are four, five and eight. He is a Project Manager for a company that manufactures dehumidification units for hospitals. Shelly our daughter is busy raising our eighteen month old grandson. After college she had a career in marketing but has taken off a couple of years to enjoy the little one. Aren't Grandchildern Great? Looking forward to seeing everyone in July!!!!!!
