Brenda Altazin (Johnson)
retail marketer for Zatarain Married 2

Bill and I have been married for 30 years and we have enjoyed raising our 2 beautiful daughters, Lindsey(26) and Kathleen(22).  Lindsey is an internal auditor and lives in Houston, and Kathleen(Kitty) is a senior at LSU who will go on to PA school after graduation. She has been a part of one movie here and would love to do more. I graduated from LSU where I confirmed that I bleed purple and gold (of course red and white too), and have passed that heritage on to my children.  We are fanatics about LSU sports, etc.  I aactually never wanted to leave college, I had so much fun.  I'm involved with both my sorority and my daughter's, and I'm happy to offer help to any graduate who has someone interested in sorority recruitment.  I had my own business for several years, an interior design, furniture, antiques, and home decor store, still a great hobby of mine.  I also represented a New York fashion designer's clothing line.  Now I work part-time (sometimes that's too much) representing Zatarain's.  We love spending time at our camp on False River and hope to build and live there permanently in the near future.  Can't get enough of fishing, boating, swimming, and hanging out with other river rats.
Bill and I are about to enter a really fun time of our lives as he has just reorganized his old band and I'm about to become a rock and roll groupie!  He played bass for the Inn Crowd and John Fred & the Playboys and his band was recently inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.  After a 40 plus intermission, the guys had so much fun playing for the event, that they decided to put the band back together. Sounds like the Blues Brothers.  So, the Inn Crowd with 4 original members will soon be rocking the area.  Let us inow if you have a company or private event that you would like some great music of our era. Who knows, they may even let me play tambourine!
I'm not sure that what I've been busy with over the last 40 years would result in major accomplishments, but to be given the award as Best Mom from my girls would be trophy enough for me.
I loved my days at Istrouma and have so many fond memories of being a proud Indian.  I loved  being a Pepster and was so proud of our spectacular halftime shows. So much school spirit!  I also loved our New York trip. Actually, enjoying everyday with the greatest group of friends is the most special memory to me.  One of my favorite teachers was Miss Roy, PE teacher. She introduced us to so many sports and instilled in me a love for competiton and physical activity.  I am now a runner and am looking forward to completing a marathon.  I'd even be thrilled to finish a half-marathon, just to earn that 13.1 decal.  As I think about our teachers, they were all such a dedicated group who truly cared for us. Go Indians!

Territory Manager Married 3
Enjoying a busy, but wonderful life.  My son is 34 and I have 2 step-children; so thankfully, now have 2 precious grandchildren.  My husband, Derald Kirkland, is from Minden, LA.  He is Director of Telecommunications for Div. of Administration.  I am a territory manager for a national packaging company, and until recently was in charge of LA, MS, AR.  In March I had Houston/East Texas added to my territory.  Last week I made my first trip to my new Texas territory, and all I can say is it weren't for GPS,  I wouldn't have made it back in time for the reunion!  The night of our reunion my favorite nephew is getting married, so I will be arriving late and be frantic trying to visit with everyone.  Can't wait to see all of you!

Lucille Henagan (Manela)
Retired from LSU Married 2
Who knew I'd work for LSU from the fall after high school graduation until May 2004. As a Student Worker in the Office of Admissions, to the Operations Manager in the Graduate School Admissions Office, and then the Registrar of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center.  LSU is a great place. What a ride!
Johnny and I have now been married 16 years, and in February of 2000 we adopted our two sons (who were 16 months and 10 months of age).  My retirement from fulltime work allowed me time to volunteer as our sons entered Kindergarten in August of 2004.  They, and their school work, keep me busy to this day.  Believe me - it's not like when we were in school!
I'm glad to have the opportunity to spend as much time as I do with them and Johnny.   We have been blessed through the years.
I'm looking forward to this class reunion, and hope to see you there!
